something is missing

originally from "International Bulletin of Missionary Research" had an article on "The Congregational Leadership Crisis Facing the Japanese Church" by way of http://blog.simon-cozens.org//post/view/1025

"Matsunaga Kikuo has cited statistics showing that "the average Christian life of a Japanese Christian is only 2.8 years! This means that quite a number of the Japanese are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ but after three years they lose their Christian commitment and perhaps their faith in Jesus Christ."

i would say that they never were Christians. so much to say about how important the way we do things is.

mark,
just wanted to tell you that i've read all of your blogs on this page. you have amazing thoughts. walden is a great book---i read it when i was in college. good thoughts to chew on...
and, as far as the length of christian lives, i wholly agree with you that the way christians think about discipling really needs to be rethought and retaught.
i think of you and kaoruko often. still praying for you...
